Have you heard of high pressure jetting when it comes to cleaning out clogs in your drains? I’ve found that plumbers have mentioned it to me as a solution before but what exactly is high pressure jetting and when is it necessary to use it?
Plumbers haven’t always had the ease of using an auger, these are the instruments that plumbers will stick into the pipes to clean them out. They used to have to take it apart and even dig it up. Augers do a wonderful job at pipe cleaning, but what do you do when they can’t hand the job?
Some clogs or blockage have a lot of grease, soot, and other things that prevent the auger from working very well. The auger will hit this wall and even with hours of work will never relieve the clog.
These types of clogs are can be found in many restaurant from cooking and draining food items that will quickly cause a strong build up. Jetting would be the perfect as well as the only real solution to this situation. Jetting is also used in residential areas as well.
High pressure jetting used to be quite expensive, but because of recent development they are now available at lower costs and more plumbers have been able to discover the ease and great results of jetting.
Because of the price reduction for plumbers, this seeps down and makes it an easy and affordable solution to any household or commercial clogging that you might be facing.
One recommendation is to not try to use a high pressure jetting system unless you are a trained professional. You could end up causing more damage if you don’t know how to use the machine.
Because of the results, jetting should never have to be done in your home more than once a year. If you think you have a clog that it just not coming out even with an auger, call a local plumber and ask if they offer high pressure jetting.
