To start, try tightening the nut that is connected to the fixture. By tightening the nut you are making it move, and will have a better chance of being able to get it to move in the opposite direction. If you are able to back the movement out, you can easily remove the fixture with little problem.
If that does not work, jar the nut loose if you can. Use a center punch and hammer to do this. Aim the center punch in the middle of the nut’s side, and try to loosen it that way.
